A personal firewall protects your computer from malicious attacks. If you are using a personal firewall on your computer and it is preventing you from discovering wireless networks or devices within the wireless network, we recommend that you temporarily disable the firewall. However, by disabling the firewall, your computer will be prone to attack until you re-enable the firewall. Because of this we recommend that you disconnect your access point from the Internet before you disable the firewall. To do this, disconnect your access point from the Ethernet hub/switch that it is connected to, or disconnect the access point from the DSL or cable modem that is providing your Internet connection. | |||
